Sanjay

  < Sanjay holds a knitted bird  

Sanjay joined Tashi Waldorf School in May, 2006. Sanjay was born in September, 2000. Sanjay lives in Eastern Kathmandu . Sanjay has two elder sisters, one elder brother, one younger brother and one younger sister. His younger brother and sister, Ram and Jyoti, are twins, and also attend TWS, in Kamala's Kindergarten class. Sanjay loves to build houses with wooden blocks. Sanjay also enjoys pretending to drive a car using a wooden chair, by turning it on its side and pushing it. When he is outside in the playground, Sanjay likes to play on the slide and on the monkey bars. He also frequently plays chasing games with his classmates.

   
       

       
Sampati

     

Sampati joined Tashi Waldorf School in June 2006. Sampati was born in May, 2000. Sampati lives with approximately 35 other children in a Children's Home run by an INGO (International Non-Governmental Organization) called ISIS, fairly near TWS. Sampati likes to dress up and play with dolls. She loves to wrap a cloth around herself like a Sari (traditional Nepali clothing for women). Sampati also likes to pretend to cook. She is good at craftwork, such as sewing jute bags. Sampati quite enjoys drawing and painting, and concentrates very hard on her artwork.

Muna

Muna joined Tashi Waldorf School in May 2006. She was born in March, 2000. Muna lives with her mother and father in a room at a carpet factory in Jorpati, near our school. Muna's parents are carpet weavers. Muna has two elder brothers who live in the family's village. Muna is a quiet and hardworking girl. She produces high quality work, and has beautiful handwriting. Muna keeps her work tidy and well organized. She enjoys reading Nepali storybooks, and can read simple words in Nepali. Muna also likes to dress up in Saris (Nepali traditional women's dress). Muna loves painting and does it quite well.

   
       

       
Ashish
     

Ashish joined Tashi Waldorf School in May 2006. He was born in January, 2000. Ashish lives with approximately 35 other children in a Children's Home run by an INGO (International Non-Governmental Organization) called ISIS in Dhapasi, fairly near our school. Ashish's parents live in the family's village and are farmers. Ashish is a very quiet and kindhearted boy. He loves to share whatever he knows, whether he learned it inside or outside of school, with his classmates. He often brings pictures that he drew at the children's home to class, and describes the pictures to his classmates. Ashish enjoys playing with wooden cars and other vehicles in the classroom. He also likes to build houses out of wooden blocks with his friends. Ashish loves to draw and is a neat and tidy artist. He likes to sing songs in the classroom during his free time but is often shy to sing in front of others.
